Loneliness is a dis-ease of the heart.

Loneliness is a dis-ease of the heart.
It suffocates the love that would otherwise
be filled with laughter, joy and celebration.
A heart wants to express the divinity of life
Sipping from the cup of pleasure and
unraveling the gifts of life and love that await
with infinite and unbounded joy.

And yet, with all that is available
loneliness happens still
I can feel isolated from the world
separated from love feeling empty and alone
It happens when I am by myself
and contemplating my longings.

And even more tragic,
the greatest sadness I know
of the stories in my book of love
are the times when I am lonely
sitting next to my beloved.

The distance like a great abyss
lies still between the sheets of pleasure
weighing heavy in the air, suffocating love.
Loneliness that captures the breath
terminating the words of love
and filling the space with regret.

To journey through the waves of life
and navigate these stormy seas
partnership and friendship
provide a guiding light
love becomes the vessel
and intimacy the map
to calm and restful seas.

Loneliness, whether solo traveling
or roaming lost within a crowd
bleeds the heart of
its potential
and scars the way to love.

I pray to find a better way.
